Welcoming Streets in Partnership with Downtown Sudbury, Business Improvement Area
01.31.2024 - Evie
Launch Date: February 1, 2024
Welcoming Streets is not just an initiative; it's a partnership forged between Downtown Sudbury and The Go-Give Project, uniting dedicated professional outreach workers with a singular mission — to fortify the heart of our city. Focused on our valued membership, this collaboration seeks to cultivate and sustain relationships with businesses, providing unwavering support and addressing concerns, all while championing equity for deserving individuals in our community.
Operating seamlessly within the Improvement Area, Welcoming Streets is at your service from Monday to Friday, extending its reach from 9 am until 2 am, and on weekends from 8 pm until 2 am. This strategic schedule is crafted to meet the unique needs of businesses, fostering a secure and inclusive environment during peak operational hours.
Our initiative's primary goal is to diminish non-urgent calls to Policing Services, redirecting our efforts toward a proactive and supportive approach. By directly engaging with businesses, Welcoming Streets aims to mitigate concerns related to our unhoused and affected community members. In doing so, we are enhancing support structures and making vital resource connections more readily available.
Welcoming Streets represents more than just a service; it symbolizes a collective commitment to the well-being and prosperity of our downtown community. Join us in fostering a welcoming, secure environment that thrives on collaboration and compassion. Together, we are reshaping the narrative and ensuring that Welcoming Streets remains a beacon of positive change in Downtown Sudbury.
